DEWG G20 Discus Opportunities & Challenges of Digitalization
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Minister of Communcation and Informatics Johnny G. Plate discussed opportunities and challanges of digital technology growth at Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) G20 Forum. He revealed that one of the idea thas is raised at the DEWG issues discussion was people-centered digital connectivity.
This comes from the concept of development of G20 countries digital infastructure. The development of digital infrastructures not only focus on technical aspect, but also ensure that every development is accompanied by the readiness of human resources, including the context of future technology, such as metaverse and blockchain," he quoted as saying from a press release, Thursday (19/5/2022).
As it is known, the DEWG G20 meeting that is held at Yogyakarta discussed the three priority issues. The discussion covers digital connectivity and the post covid-19 recovery, digital literation and digital skills, and cross-border data flow.
Furthermore, he appreciated the involvement of Gadjah Mada University,especially as knowledge partner, in organizing DEWG G20. According to him, the cooperation between the Ministry of Communication and Informatics and Gadjah Mada University has been closely tight since a long time.
"Some of them are digital talent scholarship program, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics scholarship, Digital Literacy national movement, and as DEWG G20 knowledge partner," he said.
He also invite students to explore the digital potential of Indonesia, and make productive use of the latest technology, including metaverse.
"I hope from today's series of agenda can spur the enthusiasm of every student of Gadjah Mada University to be more enthusiastic in explore new knowledge, explore the digital potential of Indonesia, and being able to conquer every challenge transforming Metaverse immersive nature in order to advance mother earth," Said Johnny.
