Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Elon Musk baru saja menjadi orang terkaya keempat di dunia. Kekayaan bos Tesla itu naik menjadi US$ 970 miliar (Rp 14.300 triliun).

Ia meraih kekayaan melebihi Gross National Produc (GNP) Siprus sekitar US$ 34,7 miliar dan GNP Belgia US$ 540 miliar. Beberapa analis memperkirakan kekayaannya bakal mencapai US$ 2.400 tahun ini.

Walau begitu, tentu saja kekayaan Jeff Bezos jauh lebih terdepan dari Musk. Begitupun Bill Gates co-founder Microsoft dan Mark Zuckerberg pemilik Facebook.

Menurut Business Insider, Bezos menghasilkan US$ 2.489 per detik atau lebih dari dua kali lipat penghasilan rata-rata pekerja AS dalam satu minggu. Padahal Administrasi Jaminan Sosial AS mengungkapkan, rata-rata pria Amerika dengan gelar sarjana, akan menghasilkan sekitar US$ 2,2 juta seumur hidupnya.

Bezos membuatnya hanya dalam waktu kurang dari 15 menit. Meski menceraikan mantan istrinya Mackenzie Bezos dan menyerahkan 25% saham Amazon yang dimiliki pasangan itu, Jeff Bezos masih mempertahankan peringkatnya sebagai orang terkaya di dunia.

Bill Gates berada di peringkat berikutnya. Gates tetap menjadi orang terkaya kedua di dunia bahkan setelah memberikan sekitar 27 persen dari kekayaan bersihnya untuk amal selama bertahun-tahun.

Bersama istrinya Melinda, Gates mengetuai Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, yayasan amal swasta terbesar di dunia. Pada Mei 2020, Gates Foundation mengatakan akan menghabiskan US$ 300 juta untuk memerangi pandemi virus corona, mendanai perawatan, deteksi, dan vaksin.

Sementara itu Mark Zuckerberg, diam-diam melonjak di peringkat tersebut karena saham Facebook melonjak pada 6 Agustus. CEO Facebook itu pada hari Kamis menjadi centibillionaire yakni seseorang yang memiliki kekayaan setidaknya US$ 100 miliar.
