Tahun ini, danau terbesar Turki seluas 1.665 kilometer persegi (643 mil persegi) telah surut seluruhnya.

Dilansir Reuters, sebuah studi berdasarkan citra satelit yang dilakukan oleh Universitas Ege, di provinsi barat Izmir, menunjukkan bahwa tingkat air di Danau Tuz mulai menurun dari tahun 2000.
