Dilansir dari Reuters, Senin (17/8/2020), pada kuartal II-2020, ekonomi Thailand tercatat minus 12,2% dibandingkan kuartal yang sama tahun sebelumnya (year on year/yoy). Ini merupakan penurunan atau kontraksi ekonomi terbesar dalam 22 tahun atau sejak krisis 1998. Secara teknikal, Thailand sudah mengalami resesi, karena pada kuartal I-2020, ekonomi negeri gajah putih ini juga minus 2%.
